1. Husky Loops, where did this name come from?

 

What? Husky Loops? By talking about dogs and hip hop for 3 days. Running in circle, and barking. whoops. 

 

2. Does your project represent something? If you do, please explain to us.

 

We are here to change the culture and the way live music and rock’n’roll bands are perceived.

3. Where do you come from?

 

From London, UK. But born in Bologna, Italy. 

 

4. What would you categorize your music as for genres?

 

We don’t categorise our music at all, and we don’t like how everything today is categorised so much even tho no one is really making a genre of music anymore. 

We make the music we want to hear, and we’re influenced by absolutely everything. Also we’re not part of a movement , we do our own thing.

Music is shifting to Afro Beat and G-Qom slowly right now and that’s what we’ll experiment with next. That’s the only genre I can think of today that is actually sounding like a “genre” . Everything else is mixed, don’t you think?

 

5. How do you get inspired?

 

Living life, genuinely by walking around London you can get ideas for a song in a minute. Listening to records we love, talking to our musicians friends.

Our friends in music inspire us lots. Shout to to Joy Anonymous, Fred Again, MEI, Pleasure Complex, Jammer, Pauli the PSM, K4mo, Bamily, SBK.

 

6. What projects inspired your musical career?

 

Recently Frank Ocean and Solange are two massive massive influences. And G-Qom. Some crazy absolute beautiful stuff there. 

Busiswa is absolutely amazing. There is artist called Toya De-Lazy we want to work with, she’s a friend she lives in London. That’s really inspiring. 

 

8. What motivates you to do this?

 

Wanting to change the world and make an impact. I Wouldn’t do any of this if I didn’t crave a change. I don’t just do it for myself. 

 

9. How do you write lyrics? And what topic do you seem to be writing the most about?

 

There’s a lot of songs about Love. Relationships are the biggest source of inspiration really. Relationships of any kind. 

Between friends, enemies, lovers. Family. To me it’s very important to make myself and others feel that I what I talk about is real and relatable. 

 

10. What instruments have you used in your project?

 

Guitar, Bass, Drums, Vocals, and the sampler. Some baselines of this records come from 808 samples rather than real bass, but it’s rare.

Most of it is live instruments. We’re a live band 

 

11.What are the cymbals, guitar and bass pedal you couldn't ever get rid of?

 

The trashier the cymbals are the better it is. Fender guitar and bass for now, they’re just the most versatile for the project.

I recently bought a 1964 GUILD guitar tho that sounds beautiful, that’s probably my go to clean guitars now for recording.

Tom bought a Rickenbacker bass, that sounds amazing as a second guitar. Slippin’, a new track in our debut album, was recorded with that bass. 

 

12. Where are you gonna play your next gig?

 

touring UK and Europe in October baby.

 

13. What's the best gig you ever played at?

 

We just played a show in Rye Wax which was really rewarding. It was the release party of “I Can’t Even Speak English” 

 

14. Which is best concert you've ever been to?

 

Jack White @ 02 Arena, Solange Latitude Festival, Frank Ocean @ Love Box, and David Byrne at Metronome. 

 

15. Where do you see yourselves in five years'time?

 

Oh man, I have no clue. 

 

16. Do you think that your music could get big in Italy?

 

No. I actually really don’t thin so. Unless we release more pop music more often like I Think You’re Wonderful. But we’ll see.
